Frequently Asked Questions

Straight answers to the questions we hear most

Do I need planning permission for a loft conversion or extension?

Many loft conversions and single-storey extensions can be built under permitted development, meaning no full planning application is needed. Larger projects, or homes in conservation areas, may require planning permission. We assess this at the consultation stage and handle the applications for you.

How long does a project take?

As a guide, a straightforward loft conversion takes around 6–8 weeks, a single-storey extension 8–12 weeks, and larger or double-storey projects longer. We give you a realistic programme with your quote.

How much does it cost?

Every project is different, so we provide a free, no-obligation quotation based on your specific requirements. We are transparent about pricing and there are no hidden costs.

Are you insured and is the work guaranteed?

Yes. We are fully insured and stand behind our workmanship. All building work is carried out to current building regulations and signed off accordingly.

Do you handle building regulations and party-wall matters?

We do. We arrange structural calculations, building-regulations drawings and inspections, and advise on party-wall agreements where a neighbour is affected.

Which areas do you cover?

We work throughout Twickenham, Richmond upon Thames, Teddington, Hampton, Kingston, Putney, Fulham, Hammersmith, Kensington & Chelsea, Chiswick, Acton, Ealing, Brentford, Isleworth and Sunbury-on-Thames. See our Areas We Cover page.

Will there be a lot of disruption?

We keep disruption to a minimum with careful planning, dust protection and a tidy site, and we keep you updated throughout. Many loft conversions can be built largely from outside, so you can stay in your home.
